About Me

I've been a writer most of my life, primarily in advertising. Seven years ago I discovered poker, and everything changed.  I didn't stop writing, but I started thinking about poker 24/7.  That's the beauty of it. You never figure it out, and the more you know the more interesting it gets.  I've written book reviews, interviews and observations published mainly in Poker Pro, both in Europe and the U.S.  I've interviewed players like   Miami John Cernuto and Freddie Deeb, spent a week being coached by Linda Johnson,  and  a month in London playing poker, all of which I wrote about.  They're posted on this blog if you're interested.

I've cashed in a good percentage of tournaments. I don't play very high buy-in games, generally in the $150 range. The highest I ever played was a $1,100 buy-in where I ended up sitting next to Mike Matusow and wished I could get my money back.  Even though I've had what I consider to be a good deal of cashes, the one thing I can't get used to is losing. I know you can't cash in every tournament, and I realize you're going to lose 90% of the time, and I understand that a few big cashes can take you from red to black in the turn of a card,  but losing is just an awful feeling.  I'm working on getting used to it. Every time I play a game or watch one my brain goes into overdrive.  So I decided to get those thoughts out with this blog. I'd love to hear your thoughts too.
